ICAN of the Quad Cities is a chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve maternal-child health by reducing preventable cesareans through education, supporting cesarean recovery, and advocating for vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Who should attend ICAN of the Quad Cities monthly meetings?<\/strong><\/p>\n

* Persons<\/strong> planning to become pregnant, currently pregnant, or postpartum seeking information about informed options, informed consent, informed refusal, and collaborative care.
* Persons<\/b> seeking support for from other experienced pregnant persons about options for where to have your next baby.
* Persons<\/b> seeking support from other experienced pregnant persons about choosing a primary birth delivery provider that might be the best fit for you?
* P<\/b>ersons<\/strong> seeking support and information for preventing a primary (1st) cesarean.
* Persons<\/strong> seeking support for a vaginal birth after a cesarean (VBAC).
* Persons<\/b> seeking support for a cesarean birth after a cesarean (CBAC).
* Persons<\/strong> seeking support after Homebirth Cesarean (HC) planned out-of-hospital birth that ends in the hospital operating room.
* Persons<\/b> seeking support for a home birth after cesarean (HBAC).
* Persons<\/b> seeking support for vaginal birth after multiple cesareans (VBAMC).
* Persons<\/strong> seeking support during recovery from an unexpected outcome.
* Persons<\/strong> seeking support following a traumatic birth experience.<\/p>\n

If you answered \u201cYES\u201d to one or more of the questions above<\/strong>, then ICAN of the Quad Cities <\/strong>peer-to-peer support is the place for you.<\/p>\n

Did you know monthly meetings are always FREE?\u00a0ICAN<\/strong> membership is NOT<\/strong> a requirement prior to attending ICAN of the Quad Cities<\/strong> monthly meetings and events? COMING SOON! WATCH THIS PAGE FOR MONTHLY MEETING CHANGES.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

ICAN of the Quad Cities<\/strong> monthly meetings, private Facebook Group, and public Facebook page may not be used for the purpose of networking by birth-workers, primary care providers, businesses, etc. ICAN of the Quad Cities does not allow birth workers, or persons working the maternity care industry to attend monthly meetings. Unless said person in is need of support for ones childbearing year.<\/b> Taking this step has ensured pregnant and postpartum persons are able to participate in a peer-to-peer manner, which ICAN<\/strong> strives to promote.<\/p>\n

ICAN of the Quad Cities FREE monthly meetings are family\u00a0friendly. Childcare not provided. Monthly meeting subjects, discussions, and featured videos may include sensitive conversations and material not suitable for children. Discretion is advised. Monthly meetings are NOT intended for the purpose of preparing children for childbirth. <\/b><\/p>\n

ICAN of the Quad Cities Chapter<\/strong> offers support, education, and advocacy with a non-judgmental, safe, and confidential atmosphere. Monthly meeting subjects include avoiding a primary (1st) cesarean, recovering from cesarean, planning a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC), planning for cesarean birth after cesarean (CBAC), birth trauma recovery, and so much more.<\/p>\n

ICAN of the Quad Cities<\/strong> monthly meetings may\u00a0NOT be used for the purpose of networking by birth-workers, medical care providers, midwives, doulas, childbirth educators,\u00a0businesses, etc.<\/p>\n

Monthly meetings are FREE and family friendly. Childcare not available. Meetings are not intended for the purpose of preparing children for birth.<\/p>\n
