Your weekly one-stop for highlights from the birth blogosphere. Visit weekly for the latest on childbirth, especially related to cesarean prevention, recovery, and VBAC. To nominate a blog post to be featured here, email me at blog@ican-online.org

Stand and Deliver – Interview with Dr. Stuart Fischbein: We linked to Dr. Fischbein’s blog on August 23rd. Rixa Freeze presents this interview with Fischbein who is currently fighting his hospital’s ban on VBAC and vaginal breech birth.

Science & Sensibility – A New Era of Home Birth Research: A new study on the safety of home birth has made a splash this past week. Amy Romano provides a thorough analysis.

Louise Marie Roth – ACOG Up to Dirty Tricks: Many in the blogosphere have commented on ACOG’s recent call for its members to submit stories of home births gone awry. Roth’s response on the Huffington Post is one example:”ACOG is not a protector of maternal or fetal life — it is primarily concerned with avoiding competition from midwives that could negatively affect the incomes of its members.”

Navelgazing Midwife – Birth Guilt: A wonderful reflection on how mothers experience the coulda-woulda-shouldas of birth and how providers can express compassion and care.

Woman To Woman Childbirth Education – At Least You Have a Healthy Baby: The picture says it all.

Nursing Birth – Natural VBAC Hospital Birth: One Reader’s Empowering Experience – A beautiful birth story.
