Passionate about birth advocacy and individualized support, she would like nothing more than to support you through your perinatal journey. Cassia

Cassia Beckman

Vice President

ICAN has been a major part of Cassia’s life for the past 18 years. She connected with her local chapter when she moved cross-country and struggled to find support for a 2nd VBAC. She thought she was coming just for provider ideas but instead found a wealth of support, encouragement, and information.

Cassia has a passion for the importance of informed consent and want to help others access the information they need to make the best choices for themselves. She firmly believes that there is no one right way or right set of choices for birth and have appreciated the depth of stories she has been able to witness through our group.

Cassia has served as an ICAN of Atlanta chapter leader since 2018 and an ICAN board member since 2023.

Katherine Fotopoulos

Secretary

Kat Fotopoulos has been serving as the ICAN of Nashville Chapter leader since 2025 and on the ICAN board as Secretary since 2026. Kat first discovered ICAN in 2018 after her first baby was delivered by unplanned cesarean. Shortly after moving to Nashville in 2019, she began attending ICAN meetings, learning about all the resources available for cesarean and VBAC support and building connection to the community.

Kat has a passion for ICAN’s mission to educate, support, and advocate. When not working hard to support ICAN, Kat works as a CPA and full spectrum doula, spending time with her husband and 3 children (likely at a park or pool, or holding a music, karaoke, and dance session in the car or kitchen), listening to an audio book, Substack, or podcast, enjoying yoga, or dreaming about and planning the next family vacation.
