Meet the Leadership: Melinda Green, ICAN of Northwest Alabama
ICAN is excited to announce Melinda Green as our newest Chapter Leader!

“I am excited to meet and help other moms and improve the VBAC climate in my area.” ~ Melinda Green, ICAN of Northwest Alabama
Please introduce yourself to ICAN:
I have a Business Degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I was an office manager for nearly 10 years. I am now a full time stay home mom and part-time Mary Kay Beauty consultant. I married my high school sweetheart and we have 2 children. I love to spend time with my family!
What led you to join ICAN?
I found the ICAN of Huntsville chapter on Facebook while in the hospital recovering from my first birth (which was a cesarean). I wanted to feel validated in my disappointment. I wanted to learn all things about birth in my area and start planning a VBAC. I did not accept it when my OB said, “You will have to have a cesarean and once a c-section, always a c-section.”
How do you share ICAN as an organization with others?
I wish others knew all ICAN does and that we are NOT only focused on VBACs. I believe a VBAC is a safe option for most healthy moms and I wish OBs and parents weren’t afraid of them!
Where will you be serving families through ICAN?
We are located in Northwest Alabama. We serve the shoals area – Florence, Tuscumbia, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield – and the surrounding areas.
Please share your upcoming Chapter meeting:
TBD
Congratulations, Melinda!
